There may be many recognizable attributes within the image, but what it may be most recognized for is that it was commissioned for the City of Lawrence Bus Shelter project.  In June 2023, the City of Lawrence, Kansas finalized and installed this image onto the glass that will surround the bus shelter somewhere within the city limits.

Im proud that my city is representing me and other Native artists.  We feel loved! but in return, my hopes for this art is so that the younger generation can one day look around and feel recognized for their cultural backgrounds within the urban areas.

Every Northern Traditional dancer tells of his feat in battle while dancing.  As this one looks back to instruct his fellow warriors ride into battle with him.  The way that the riders on horses look, is how one would have drawn warriors on horseback in old ledger drawings.  Using this knowledge pays homage to a traditional way of telling a story while incorporating a modern style of painting.  As well as showcasing the pop-art style that showcases the eagle, geometric designs, and graffiti wave.

If you want to see the bus shelter in person, you can find it in front of the Capital Federal bank along Harvard and Iowa street, just before you hit QT on 9th.  When you find it, take a selfie!  Email your selfie to tokeyar@gmail.com AND also post it on your social media and tag @coup_count.designz to receive a FREE sticker!  Good luck!!
